Sudhakar Sharma walked to Mumbai when he was at the end of his teens. He came to Mumbai to try his luck in the field of lyrics writing in Bollywood. Sudhakar Sharma is a simple person from the land of Haryana. His early learning to write lyrics was achieved from romantic lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri. He learnt the basics of writing lyrics from him and became confident of starting as a lyricist in Bollywood.

Sudhakar Sharma holds great appreciation for Shailendra Ji who was his idol. Both Shailendraji and Narendra Sharma were responsible for taking his career as a lyricist to a great level. The early comedian Maruti introduced him to Kishore Kumar. He helped Kishore Kumar in directing several films. Before actually starting his career as a lyricist he also assisted Chand Sahib and Rajinder Singh Bedi in directing films. His career as a lyricist started of by writing lyrics for a serial called Andaaz by Himesh Reshamiya.

Sudhakar Sharma started his career as a lyricist for Hindi movies with the film Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya. He also wrote the lyrics for films like Humraaz, Bandhan, Chura Liya Hai Tumne, Kahin Pyar na Ho Jaye, Hum Rahi, Hum Manchale, Dhadkan, Meri Baat To Suno and Mausam. Some of the other films to his credit include Amdani Atthani Kharcha Rupaiya, Roop Tera Mastana and Kiski Biwi. There are several other Bollywood movies too for which Sudhakar Sharma has written lyrics.

Sudhakar Sharma worked for several music albums and serials too.
